Revenue Compound Annual Growth Rate

Definition

Compound Annual Growth Rate is an indicator that reflects the average rate of revenue growth over a certain period of time.

Example

Company reported revenue for 2015-2020 :

2015 - 25 000
2016 - 21 000
2017 - 24 000
2018 - 29 000
2019 - 30 000
2020 - 38 000

Revenue CAGR = ((38 000 - 25 000)^(1 / 5))-1 = 13 000^0,2-1 = 5,6%

More detailed

Revenue CAGR  is calculated according to the formula:

Revenue CAGR = ((Revenue at the end of the period / Revenue at the beginning of the period) ^ (1 / Number of intervals for the period)) - 1

The main advantage of Revenue CAGR is that it is easy to use. Calculating revenue CAGR can show how efficiently a company is performing, and it helps to predict future revenue growth rates.

According to Ranks methodology, this indicator is analyzed in the Dividends block and used along with other indicators to calculate the score.
